We at Laka like to play fair, and we always try to keep costs down for the community. But the question here is really how do we do this?

2 ways in which we try and keep the cost down are;

Salvaging and Upcycling Parts

When a claim comes in we try our best to get you on the bike as soon as possible and we get replacement parts and bikes to you super fast. We could just stop there. However, some damaged parts can actually be salvaged. We work with partners who buy old bike parts and upcycle them.

All of the money made in this way goes straight back into the Laka Community as savings off your next bill.

Subrogation

This one is a bit more complex. When one of our members has had a crash that was someone else's fault for example a collision with a car, rather than asking our member to take this up with the driver's insurers, we pay out claims fast and take on the responsibility of going after the driver ourselves to recover the cost of the claim we have paid out.

When we recover money in this way, that's right, you guessed it, we back into the Laka Community as savings off your next bill.
